Constellation Residences at Northstar, a high-end, full-service, ski-in, ski-out residence resort will be expanding and joining RockResorts, a subsidiary of Vail Resorts, which owns Northstar California.  JMA Ventures, the San Francisco-based company that owns Constellation as well as Homewood Mountain Resort, intends to build 50 new 2-3- and 4-bedroom units at the slopeside property at Northstar California. Workers are expected to break ground in spring 2014 in order to finish the first residences by fall 2015.

RockResorts–which operates high-end resorts at Vail properties in Colorado as well as in Jamaica–takes over management of the property, which includes full-time residences that can be rented out when owners are away. The two-to-four bedroom units range from 1,454 square feet to 2,416 square feet at $925,000-$2.3 million, respectively and include all the amenities available to Ritz Carlton guests as well as a new workout facility and outdoor fire pits and hot tubs expected to be built along with the expansion, among other services. Located immediately adjacent to Northstar’s mid-mountain area, skiers have on-site storage and valet services and can ski directly onto the mountain from the resort.
